DOCSIS 3.1

The DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem supports up to 10 Gb/s internet speeds and is backward compatible with previous DOCSIS standards.

The dual-band 802.11ax Wi-Fi delivers up to 2700 Mb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with MU-MIMO offering simultaneous 6-stream connectivity with multiple devices. Smart Connect technology sets up one Wi-Fi name for your entire home and automatically assigns the fastest Wi-Fi band to connected devices. The wireless router works with previous Wi-Fi standards.

OFDMA

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access allows Wi-Fi traffic to be managed efficiently by handling multiple data transmissions simultaneously instead of having each device wait for its turn. The results include reduced latency and increased bandwidth for adding devices to the network.

Wired Connections

Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for connected wired network devices such as computers, game consoles, and smart TVs. Two of the ports may be combined using link aggregation for multi-Gig connections to compatible devices.

USB Sharing

Connect an external storage drive to the USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port to back up and share data across your network. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 are synonymous.

Nighthawk App

Use the mobile app to quickly set up, manage, and monitor your cable modem and router's performance. Features include remote management, pausing internet access to any device, an internet data usage meter, and setting up guest network access.

Works With / Does NOT Work With

Works with: cable internet (coax) from Xfinity, Spectrum, Cox, Astound (Grande/RCN/Wave), Breezeline (WOW), Mediacom, Optimum and Sparklight. DOCSIS 3.1. Certified for Xfinity plans up to 800 Mbps and Spectrum and Cox plans up to 1 Gbps. Ethernet ports are 1 Gbps (no 2.5 Gbps port).

Does NOT work with: Fiber (Verizon Fios, AT&T Fiber, Google Fiber), DSL, satellite, or 5G / fixed wireless home internet. Does not support ISP home phone (voice) service.

Activate With Your ISP

1. Connect the coax cable from your wall outlet to the modem and hand-tighten (connect directly to the wall outlet if possible, without a splitter).
2. Plug in the power adapter and wait for the Online light to turn solid (up to 10 minutes).
3. Activate with your provider. Xfinity: use the Xfinity app on cellular data (not Wi-Fi). Other providers: use your provider's activation page or call them with the model, serial number and MAC address on the modem's label.
4. Restart the modem (unplug for 30 seconds, then plug it back in), then connect your computer or Wi-Fi router.

Will this work with my internet provider?

It works if your internet comes into your home through a coax cable from a cable provider such as Xfinity, Spectrum or Cox. It will not work with fiber, DSL, satellite, or 5G home internet. Check that your plan speed is within the certified speeds (Xfinity 800 Mbps, Spectrum and Cox 1 Gbps). If you have home phone service through your cable provider, keep their voice modem; this model does not support it.
