When NOAA sends out an emergency broadcast, the alarm sounds and an alert indicator turns on to let you know that an emergency broadcast was received. The JEP-775 also includes a built-in rechargeable battery and some unique features that come in handy if there’s a power outage. When a power failure occurs, the front-mounted emergency light will automatically turn on and an alarm will sound to wake you if you’re sleeping. The clock and radio will continue to operate when unplugged, so you can continue listening to the radio for updated weather or emergency-related messages.
