I don't want this to go on record

I don't want this to go on record. I cannot get this unit to play. I need to talk to someone about how it works. Have my CD in it, and it lights up 14 songs and it moves cause I open it up and the label is facing in another direction but never starts playing sound up and all. There are programings to do I know but I don't know how directions and all. Not a techie. I am from the old school. I will be 80 in about 2weeks. Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, and happy early birthday! You don't need to do any programming, and nothing is wrong with your player. Seeing '14' on the display means it has read your CD. It's just waiting for you to tell it to start.

Please try these steps:

1. MAKE SURE IT'S ON CD.
On top of the player there is a sliding switch labeled FUNCTION. Slide it to the position marked CD (it may say CD/AUX or CD/BT). If it's on TAPE/OFF, AM or FM, the CD won't play.

2. CHECK THE CD.
The printed label should face UP and the shiny side DOWN. Close the lid all the way until it clicks.

3. WAIT A FEW SECONDS.
The display will show the number of songs (you saw '14', which is correct).

4. PRESS PLAY.
Find the button with a triangle and two short lines (►‖), marked PLAY/PAUSE. Press it once. The CD will not start by itself, so this step is needed every time. A small light will turn on and the song number will start counting.

5. TURN UP THE VOLUME.
Turn the VOLUME knob up. If it was turned all the way down, you won't hear anything even while it's playing.

To stop, press the STOP button (■). To turn the player off, slide the FUNCTION switch back to TAPE/OFF.

If it still doesn't play after this, try a different store-bought music CD. Some home-burned CDs don't play well. You're also welcome to call us and we'll walk through it with you over the phone. Jensen's customer service line is 1-800-777-5331 as well.

Warm regards,
Luke

Meet Verdi. We find the best deals.

What does "certified refurbished" actually mean?

A refurbished product is one that was returned and then restored to as close to like-new as possible—including replacement parts and updated software where needed. Every refurbished product we sell is certified, meaning it's been restored by the manufacturer or an authorized partner and tested to original standards. Want the full breakdown? Read Refurbished, Renewed, Used… What's the Difference?

Are all refurbished items in equally good condition?

Yes. Every refurbished refurbished product is cleaned and tested to come as close to like-new as possible. We also carry new condition products which are unopened and brand new!

Do your products come with a warranty?

They do. Every refurbished product is backed by our 12-Month Refurb Warranty, and many new products carry longer coverage—1–2 years, and in some cases a Lifetime Warranty. Need specifics on your item? Contact us and we'll help.

Do you accept returns?

You can return most items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Items may be opened and inspected and still qualify, as long as they're returned in the same condition you received them and include all original accessories.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?
If the return is due to our error—such as an incorrect or defective item—we cover the return shipping cost.

When will I get my refund?
Refunds are typically issued within 5–14 business days after we receive your returned item.
